About Us

R.A.C.E

RACE CBO is a registered local organisation operating within Homabay county Karabondi location. The organisation started as a centre for indigenous Syntropic agroforestry project in 2021, we have then transition to regenerative agriculture to help engage in more sustainable living practices.

We have since train over 500 individuals on regenerative agriculture and agroforestry as our main objectives include promotion of Regenerative Agriculture in the community by training members of the community in Permaculture and Syntropic agroforestry, we are on course to establish permanent resource centre to host volunteers, students and community, indigenous seeds bank for sharing with community and tree nursery. We also intend to collaborate with other partners to ensure close loop systems in our waste management to ensure greener environment.

Our Story

We have partnered with groups with similar objectives and is a member of the Planeto sano Africa, Kajulu hills eco villages. Other member sites include and not limited to COMPE in Siaya county.

The director of RACE Steve Tolo is a degree holder in Logistics and Supply chain management, and have graduated with Certificate in Regenerative Agriculture from Kisumu city permaculture academy in 2020. And a second advance permaculture design course in the same year.

And become a facilitator in the same year,and now a lead facilitator for two years working and training community around Kenya and Uganda and Tanzania.

Also trained in Syntropic Agroforestry training at 

Regenerative Holistic Centre in Rusinga Island and Graduated as Syntropic Agro forest teacher in 2021I have since become a practitioner and consultant on the same.

I was also one of the students at Farmers Voice Radio Academy 2022 (FVR) by Lorna young 

foundation. Where I won a prize to air the voices of the small holder farmers through radio in local language.

Where together with farmers we run an 8 episode of the program "Pur Marito Aluora kod keyo Mosiko in (Luo) aired at Dala FM in kisumu City

The centre in collaboration with Kajulu hills currently are conducting trainings thrice every year that is in March, July and November.

We have also shared indigenous seeds with several members of the community and have started two other community projects.
